-by Twinkle Bhatia

Kurtis are the most favorite go-to for most Indian women due to its versatility, comfort and elegance. All you need is a few kurtis, trousers and jeans, and I assure, you are going to be all sorted for this monsoon season. Kurtis are the ultimate style staple when it comes to comfortability during monsoons. There’s a lot of inspo we can take on how to style kurtis from the leading ladies at Bollywood.

Are you still confused how you can rock the kurti trend this monsoon? Here are various casual kurtis that we can style in different ways for this monsoon season that not only feels comfortable but also oozes fashion:

The Denim Trend

Are denims still restricted to your jeans? No more! Follow the denim tunic trend this monsoon and stay stylish! You can pair this denim tunic with either a light colored trouser or black rugged jeans or hey, what about denim on denim. We assure you will make heads turn no matter where you go. Add your sling bag and you are ready to rock this casual look either for your college or office wear.

Color-block parties

Some years ago, the fade for tie-dye fabrics began and they have made no stoppage since then. This trend is what we like to call the color-block party. Now styling this can be a little tricky is not done right. So as fashion enthusiasts (as we call ourselves ;)) we suggest you to stick to solid colors with a little of the same color scheme of tie-dye. Something like this can be then paired with either trousers or leggings. Add some simple earrings to this look and you’re good to go.

Anarkali- the casual way

Our favorite pick would be these anarkali style kurtis that can never go out of style. This type of kurtis gives the body a flattering feel and when paired right with pants or leggings can really enhance your look. Also, we suggest some added sparkle with a small bindi and oxidized earrings.

PS – You can also opt to wear anarkalis as a tunic dress with a belt to look trendy!

Short Kurtas

Short kurtas are the best thing our fashion gods have invented. They are 3 things that we like the most- comfy, chic and super comfy again. Short cotton kurtas or even floral cotton kurtas should be your go-to for the monsoon. Style them with trousers, leggings, rugged jeans and everything else that you own. We love to pair our kurtas in this rainy weather with our trustworthy denims and some hoops or other long earrings to complete our look.

Icy kurtis

Icy pastel colors are the new trend setters and they are not here to disappoint us anytime soon! We love these colors for the monsoon season and recommend you to them in your wardrobe. We’d always prefer wearing them with palazzos or light denims. Also, we would either add “juttis” or flat sandals to this look. Minimal yet impressive look done right!!
