The popular go to for anything closely Indian, the popular Salwar Kameez has been around for as long as we could remember and has been modernised to suit the needs for the ever evolving woman. Being a mainstay of almost every woman’s wardrobe, we decided to narrow down a couple of salwar kameez styles to suit most body types.

1) The Anarkali
Reminiscent of the royal Mughal days and all that panache, the Anarkali style of salwar kameez is gaining momentum owing to its flair and elan while being the perfect outfit for all shapes and sizes.  Lending height owing to its usual long length, this style is often more comfortable than it looks with a classy frock style look paired with slim fitted bottoms. Extremely versatile too as the work can be customised according to the occasion, it is a good option for even brides to consider for their mehendi or poojas while others can don this outfit at the most formal occassions with necessary work being done on it. Indo western looks also include altering the length of the Anarkali and pairing them with cigarette pants or palazzos while floor length anarkalis are also a popular choice amongst many in India as well as internationally.

2) Straight Cut Salwar Kameez
This style spells a bit more sophistication than style and focuses on simplistic functionality rather than anything else. As the name suggests, it is cut straight and could be worn either long or short. The real reason why this style makes the cut is because it can be paired with a variety of bottoms depending on the final look that you are going for. Choose from skirts, shararas, cigarette pants or even dhoti pants to complement your look. Perfect for all body types again, straight cut kurtas or salwaar kameez sets suit women of all heights and shapes depending on what you pair it with. Women of shorter height could pair straight kurtas with cigarette pants or skirts or even use a plain kurta with a vertical print pant to create the illusion of height while tall women could easily flaunt any of the styles. Straight shape, pear shape , hourglass shape or even oval body shapes can easily pull this look off.

3) Sharara Salwar Suits
Similar to the famed lehenga but with a twist, the sharara is divided near the knee to give an impression of a flair. With room of movement and high on the style quota, this graceful addition can be with a lot of Resham, mirror or zardosi work or can also be kept plain to balance out the kurta. Available in pastel as well as bright colours, shararas are the perfect glam factor to add zing to any outfit. Perfect for all women, this is one addition you should definitely consider to your festive wardrobe.
